What is VCI film

VCI films and envelopes contain a mixture of vapor phase corrosion inhibitors to protect packaging metals from rust or corrosion.

How VCI packs work

VCI films protect metals by direct contact and gas phase. When the VCI plastic is in direct contact with the metal, the VCI molecules absorb or temporarily “stick” to the metal surface, forming an invisible molecular barrier against corrosive elements such as oxygen, moisture and chlorides. As the VCI molecules evaporate from the film and diffuse into the package, they also form a protective molecular layer on the metal surfaces that are not in direct contact with the film. When the packaging is removed, the VCI molecules simply evaporate and float away. Metal parts are ready for use without additional cleaning.

Unlike some shrink films that rely on white pigments to reflect UV light, VCI HP UV Shrink Film contains unique inhibitors that protect the polymer from UV light and prevent degradation. Recyclable.

Shrinkable foil
A resistant film that inhibits the corrosion of various types of metals through contact, barrier and vapor protection. The film has a high protection against ultraviolet (UV) light to maintain the integrity of the film itself as well as the parts packaged inside. It is effective in harsh outdoor climates and can be shrink-wrapped for a custom fit. Recyclable.
